Security

The Department of Children, Youth, and Families Child Support Division has taken several steps to safeguard the integrity of its telecommunications and computing infrastructure, including but not limited to authentication, monitoring, auditing, and encryption. Security measures have been integrated into the design, implementation, and day-to-day practices of the Department's entire operating environment as part of its continuing commitment to risk management.

The Web system uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology for secure transmission of information. The SSL protocol has become the universal standard on the Web for authenticating sites and for encrypting communications between employers and Web servers. This means that employers can confidently send private data to a web site, trusting that SSL keeps it private and confidential in transit.

Cookies

Minnesota Child Support Online uses cookies to guide employers through our interactive applications. A cookie is a small data file that resides on your computer and contains information about you that is relevant to this site.

E-mail

Information that is transmitted by e-mail over the Internet is not secure and can be intercepted and read by other Internet users. The Department of Children, Youth, and Families recommends that you do not use e-mail to send private or confidential data about yourself or others unless it has been encoded or encrypted. In addition, the department will e-mail responses that contain private or confidential data only to an employer's secure e-mail address.
